DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping Training

The Department of Transportation (DOT) serves the United States by ensuring a safe and accessible nationwide transportation system. The DOT also regulates the transportation of hazardous materials, and such material must be prepared in accordance with the DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations of 49 CFR 100-185 (HMR). Violators can have their shipments rejected and returned and/or be penalized (up to $89,678 per civil violation). Our training is designed to instruct employees in the requirements of the HMR as they pertain to offering hazardous materials, including hazardous waste, for highway shipment.

This instructor-led course is a detailed review of the provisions of The Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Requirements (HMR) of 49 CFR 100-185.  It is designed to instruct employees in the requirements of the HMR as they pertain to offering hazardous materials, including hazardous waste, for highway shipment.  This course does not cover the shipping of explosives or radioactive materials.

This course has been designed to assist offerors of hazardous materials in meeting the mandatory training requirements of 49 CFR 172.700-704.  At a minimum, DOT hazardous materials training is required every 3 years.
